Smeltend ijs doet zeeniveau sneller stijgen

Volgens een nieuw rapport over de toestand van het noordpoolgebied is het ijs daar sneller aan het smelten dan tot nu toe gedacht werd, en dreigt als gevolg daarvan het zeeniveau tegen eind deze eeuw tot drie keer meer te stijgen dan voorzien...
